All-In Talks West 2026

A little late to post my thoughts on attending the ALL IN Talks West earlier this week in Vancouver but here goes.

Keynotes from Mayor Ken Sim, FCPA, FCA, BC’s Minister of AI and New Technologies Rick Glumac, TELUS, SCALE AI – Canada’s AI Cluster, brought perspectives and a road map of AI initiatives and areas of growth, public and private sector procurement, sovereignty, and competitiveness across Canada and Internationally.

Insightful panel discussions all around but the one with Life Sciences BC, Handol Kim, Jenny Yang and #SFU, resonated with me the most, with Cavallo’s journey as a Canadian company with their 1st customer in the US before growing their business locally – a reported 75% of Canadian companies doing the same. There was definitely a bit of SF feel, start-up and entrepreneurial mindset, and hopeful there’s continued emphasis in supporting the companies and environment to foster this.

With incredible local success stories born locally like STEMCELL Technologies and AbCellera, TELUS, and more, and an incredible amount of talent from local universities including Simon Fraser University, The University of British Columbia, British Columbia Institute of Technology, and many more, technology leaders like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, SAP, Salesforce, Databricks and many, many more, the future is bright for BC in AI!

Looking forward to participating in BC’s AI boom 💥
