Arshdeep Ahuja at Big Data and Analytics Canada West Summit 2024

Day 1

🚀 Day 1 at the Big Data & Analytics Canada West Summit 2024 in Vancouver was nothing short of inspiring! 🚀

I’m grateful to Cavallo Technologies Inc. for giving me the opportunity to attend this incredible event, where I had the chance to learn from leading experts in the world of data, AI, and analytics. Here are a few key takeaways that truly resonated with me:

1️⃣ Harold Leusink shared how data strategy isn’t about the data itself, but about prioritizing resources and aligning business strategies. Success is about consistency, not just winning the race!

2️⃣ Ria Stone emphasized the importance of starting AI projects early and building trust with non-technical teams. AI should empower people, not replace them.

3️⃣ Luc Legardeur discussed the evolving role of data governance, highlighting that why the days of traditional data catalogs are over and how can a better catalog – decentralized/centralized, automated, and scalable are for better decision-making.

4️⃣ Shadi Balandeh, Ph.D. revealed how hybrid AI models like BERT and GenAI can drive customer insights without breaking the bank, while leveraging Google’s CCAI Insights to maintain consistency across changing cloud models.

5️⃣ Rochelle Grayson reminded us that AI is a tool to enhance human judgment, not replace it. Align AI strategies with business goals, ensure data quality, and keep human oversight at the forefront.

So much to absorb and reflect on! Looking forward to Day 2 and continuing this incredible journey of learning and networking. 💡
